Located at kilometre zero on the vintage wines route in Burgundy, the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie in Dijon will open its doors on the site of the former Hôtel-Dieu general hospital.Covering an area of 3.5 hectares (26,000 sqm of floor area, of which 17,000 sqm of renovated historic premises) it will be organised around a living museum of gastronomy, a covered market welcoming tourists and providing a setting for events, a school of catering and a 4* hotel. The project weaves a dialogue between the traditions and contemporaneity of French cuisine by enhancing the historic elements and placing them in association with modern programming.
Over an area of 3.5 hectares, the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie ecodistrict in Dijon takes the place of the old park and the service buildings of the former hospital, transforming them into an inhabited park.
